There are two different ways to be referred to Clinks Care Farm. It will depend on your individual circumstances which one is appropriate. Please contact us if you are unsure.

Farming on Prescription – Primary Care Referrals.

This innovative project was launched in 2010. GPs, the Wellbeing Service and other health and social care professionals in the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area can refer patients with mild/moderate mental health issues and some physical health problems to Clinks Care Farm for a 12 week programme one day a week.   This project is only accessible to those who have a GP in Great Yarmouth or Waveney and are not receiving care from mental health services.

Clinks Care farm offers you the opportunity to participate in meaningful activity, either on the farm or in the market garden, in a supportive and therapeutic environment.  Those who have participated in the programme tell us that their appetite and sleeping patterns have improved, that their mood has improved and that their confidence and self-esteem has increased.  Many of those who have completed the project have been successful securing paid employment, accessing volunteering positions or returning to education.

“Since being at Clinks Farm my general mood, anxiety and depression have all improved.  I now feel more confident and have also started to grow my own vegetables at home.”

Secondary Care referrals

At Clinks Care farm we also offer day care placements to a variety of individuals, from different age groups and with different health conditions.  Engaging in farm and market garden activities can aid recovery by improving physical health and mental well-being.  It also provides structure, routine and respite.  We are able to offer therapeutic placements to those recovering from severe and enduring mental health issues, adults with learning difficulties, adults with autistic spectrum disorder, those suffering from a brain injury, people recovering from physical health problems and people diagnosed with early onset dementia.

Referrals can be made by health and social care professionals, parents and carers. If you already have a personal budget in place you are also able to self-refer. Placement fees are dependent on the level of support required and start at £60.00 per day.  We also offer a free of charge taster session to help you decide if you’d like to join us.

“ Really had a lovely day…..we all mucked in and laughed and talked….thank you to everyone.”
